FreeUpMyMac is designed with privacy in mind. The app performs all disk scanning and analysis locally on your Mac. We do not access, collect, or store the contents of your files.

Smart Check Feature
When you use the Smart Check feature to analyze whether a file is safe to delete, we send the following information to our servers:
File name
File path
We do not send the contents of your files. This information is used solely to provide you with safety recommendations and is not stored after the analysis is complete.
Analytics
We use PostHog to help us understand how the app is used and to improve our service. PostHog may collect:
Device type and model
macOS version
App usage data (such as screens viewed and features used)
Anonymized user identifiers
IP address (which may indicate approximate location)
This data is collected in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you.
Purchases
